TSO Armor and Training Inc., “TSO” over the last four years provided Train to Qualify (T2Q) courses to various commands and Units through-out the US Navy Fleet. Courses developed and approved by various US Navy authorities provide classroom and underway training as part of the total package designed and aligned to meet the Personal Qualifications Standards (PQS) for Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) variant boat packages within the US Navy inventory. Course curriculum is based on Naval Education and Training (NAVEDTRA) 130 series guidelines and modified based on end user platforms and other needs from basic to advanced skills.
TSO’s Boat Program Manager, Bryan Main following the most recent unit training with the US Navy stated, “We continue to increase the breadth of training as requested by each customer to include more advanced low-light navigation and alongside exercises, providing valuable hands on experience to boat teams for their specific missions”. The classroom and training focuses on detailed boat systems and coxswain handling and maneuvering. “Our various courses are designed to take a boat team from basic to an advanced platform utilizing the Crawl, Walk, Run approach.” TSO averages 4-6 courses per year delivered through-out the US, with each course varying in length and tailored to the customer’s requirements. “We have dedicated a number of years in designing our courses against varying RIB designs and capabilities that enables TSO to respond rapidly to Federal, State, and Local request for training”.
